Here is a special section for educators and students with information and ideas to increase interprofessional collaboration and awareness from the start of a student’s professional development. While it is not all directly related to home modifications, the concepts behind the projects remain the same.

“MIT Program Allows OTs to Collaborate with Engineers and Designers”, Andrew Waite

MIT developed a program called “Open Style Lab” that allows Engineering students from MIT, Industrial Design students from Rhode Island Institute of Design, and Occupational Therapy students from Boston University to work together on a 10 week long project to design an assistive technology device for someone with a physical disability.
